Boasting a stunning design, the Superocean 58 is almost 18 meters long and the Superocean 58 deck is characterized by muscular lines and all the typical stylistic features of the Scanner shipyard, the Superocean 58 impresses with its deck spaces and interior spaciousness.
Innovation is often an end in itself, with no connection to reality. However, this is not the case for the Superocean 58: born from a specific customer request, it is the result of a long study of engineering, ergonomics and aesthetics and surprises with its quality and originality. The project, which resulted from the collaboration between two business realities - the Italian Seascan Marine, producer of the famous Scanner Luxury Ribs, and the French Yachting Maintenance - with the design and naval architecture of Donato Montemitro and Benoit Marcilhacy, was originally launched with the aim of creating uncompromising boats.
The exterior lines are characterized by a curved barrel profile that rises towards the bow as the hull is exposed and is found on almost all flagship Scanner models. Thus, the observer can notice the windows of the hull and guess the nautical qualities offered by the geometry of the hull.
The huge spaces on deck offer guests many solutions for enjoying the boat: sun decks, dining areas and aft bathing platforms (with built-in bathing ladder or hydraulically operated gangway) are designed to meet the needs of a huge number of passengers. The boat can accommodate up to 30 passengers. In addition, the shipyard gives the customer the opportunity to choose the materials, finishes, options and layout he wants to best suit his tastes and needs. In fact, according to Scanner, “there is no such thing as a perfect ship. It is an ideal boat for any person who wants to own one.”
Superocean 58 exterior
This is absolutely true because the real luxury is to differentiate yourself by using unique custom items. The model we tested on an autumn day with flat seas is completely covered in solid teak. The cushionless bow offers a huge area with excellent views, interrupted only by three wide entrances to the cabins below. The optical play of the teak edges and the square shape of the low side walls without side railings create a very pleasant and modern optical geometric effect.
Sundeck Superocean 58 in bow Superocean 58 aft
The extreme bow section contains a special long compartment for a large bimini top, which can thus completely disappear under the cushions. This system is aesthetically pleasing, practical and safe at sea. Equally excellent is the solution of anchor winch on deck and anchor winch below (there is even a deck hand shower for chain and hand wash).
Superocean 58 relaxation zone Superocean 58 aft
Maneuvering is ensured by foot controls, while the two mooring clips are positioned further aft to facilitate mooring manoeuvres. The anchor was specially designed by the shipyard itself, which chose a very special shape. Another solution that makes the Superocean 58 even more comfortable and distinctive is the double bench/sofa on the bow, right next to the windshield, seat cushions and a backrest that offers a privileged area both for navigation and moments of relaxation/reading.
Superocean 58 sunbathing platform
A wide teak-covered central walkway allows passengers to reach the bow in complete safety. In the central part of the boat, protected by a large hard deck, there is a helm console and a guest lounger facing the sea.
Superocean 58Scanner Marine T-Top Control Console
The console, a true superyacht-style helm station, is generous in both size and equipment. The latter is perfect, well organized and easy to reach. There is plenty of space for the pilot to find the best position for steering and maneuvering the boat, with a total of six seats between the pilot and co-pilot benches. Three steps lead to the main deck, where the cockpit is equipped as a real terrace with a view of the sea, equipped with a kitchen cabinet with barbecue, sink, refrigerators, wine cellar, pantry, drawer for cutlery and crockery, all covered with opening teak panels: exterior spaces are at least 40% wider than competitors.
Superocean 58 outdoor dining table Superocean 58 dining table
The owner has chosen a solution of exceptional sociability with two large tables with fixed legs surrounded by an L-shaped settee. In part of the deck there is a solarium: two large sun cushions are actually placed above two very useful spaces, one for storing equipment, the other for 2.20 meters (inflated) tender. A small but aesthetically pleasing hardtop covers the central part of the boat, which houses the helm station and galley, but the shipyard also offers the option of shading the stern with a special bimini top supported by carbon poles, which can be stowed away in one of the many stowage spaces that are available throughout the boat.

Superocean 58: Interior
Although the Scanner Superocean 58 is clearly considered an open yacht, we are dealing with a significantly more versatile boat. In fact, despite the day cruiser category it could be placed in, the boat offers the same amenities as a true full-on larger cruiser. The interior actually offers tree-wide cabins and three heads, a dinette with galley and dining table, and a crew cabin with a separate entrance from the cockpit.
Superocean 58 interior
The interior is light and bright, made of pleasant white painted wood with visible veins in a very marine style and with some parts of the walls and furniture in wengé: a pleasant and modern whole that enhances the young spirit of the boat. The windows are not very large, but they have a part of the opening and are sufficient to supply air and light to the rooms; on the other hand, it must be taken into account that the Superocean 58 is a fast and very maneuverable motorboat, so the certificates designed to ensure a high level of safety limit the openings in the sides, but there are still two large hatches on the ceiling.
The dining room, located amidships, has an almost square plan and is classically divided into a dining room on the starboard side and a galley on the port side, with a large passageway in the middle to facilitate circulation on board. A square electric table with a single fixed leg can be lowered and converted into two additional beds. The kitchen is compact, L-shaped and equipped with a beautiful partition island. We find the solution, which incorporates the TV into the outer wall of the kitchen island, facing the sofas and at the right distance, very discreet in terms of placement and not bulky at all, to be both curious and smart.

A little further on, we find the full-width main cabin door, equipped with a double bed in the middle, two wardrobes with doors and two nightstands on the sides. Exceptional attention to detail and selection of high-quality materials can be seen everywhere.
Superocean 58 Head Superocean 58 Head
For example, the three heads have the same finish: one of the walls is an ultra-thin natural split stone mounted on a lightweight bracket, which, when combined with the rest of the white walls and Corian sink, gives a sure-fire winning aesthetic. effect. The advantage of the double VIP cabin is the bed, which almost completely occupies the available area and, with the side panoramic window, creates a comfortable and cozy space. The third guest cabin has a bunk bed instead.
Construction of
Superocean 58 windows
The hull is made of fiberglass with hand solid lamination, multi-axis pads, vinylester and exposed resins. The sides and deck instead use sandwich technology with a PVC foam core. The hull design is the result of a long study of high speeds, high stresses and propulsion: two support slides on each side ensure good smoothness and softness on the water. Construction also used the latest laser cutting technologies with numerical control. High-intensity coloring ensures a long life and a perfect finish.
Superocean 58 Sea Trial
Superocean 58 sea trial
The quiet autumn day certainly did not help us to fully understand the characteristics of the boat, the hull of which was specially designed to provide excellent smoothness in combination with the thruster drive, good performance and high stability at sea.
Superocean 58 in progress Superocean 58 lok
Even at high speed, the boat performs nimble turns, with good lateral inclination. In the tightest turns - we're talking around 50 meters in diameter - the engines lose RPM but don't enter cavitation, which is beneficial for performance.
Superocean 58 turns
The hull seems quite soft in terms of going over self-generated waves without any particular hull shocks. It has an excellent ability to self-regulate, which makes the boat really stable even when stationary, and its special design makes the boat extremely dry in all sea conditions.
Superocean 58 hull Superocean 58 transom
It is certain that we are dealing with a motorboat that, despite its considerable size and mass, behaves sporty and fast, with a maximum speed of 37 knots. The helm console of the Superocean 58 is truly princely, with yacht-style proportions and an excellent 360-degree view interrupted only by the hardtop's struts above. Wide walkways throughout the boat and the presence of numerous handrails ensure complete safety on board. And safety, along with aesthetics and technology, is an aspect that the shipyard pays special attention to.
Superocean 58 night light
In short, the Superocean 58 combines classic charm and technological modernity: an ambitious goal that the Italian-French manufacturer has successfully achieved.
