LAULE'A was bought in 1998 by her present owner who immediately set upon an extensive structural refit. He considered that the yacht had not been built exactly to plan in terms of tabbing all bed flats and bulkheads to the hull. A year later and having used 55 gallons of West Epoxy and 250 pounds of biaxial cloth Will had the stiffest Perry 47 ! In the process the bow forward of the chain locker bulkhead was reinforced with G10 linen epoxy board in 1/4 and 1/2 inch thicknesses. He also improved the hull / deck joint by reinforcing the bulwarks with 3M 5200 polyurethane glued wood stringers, had been hollow before.
Excellent deck hardware, LEISURE FURL in boom fully battened main furling system plus an excellent cruising sail wardrobe and many other great cruising yacht items were installed for the upcoming adventures. LAULE'A carried her crew from California to SE Asia and ceased cruising here in 2015. She has been stored ashore, had a complete re paint in 2019 and is now actively for sale. With the excellent structural improvements, her size, type and price LAULE'A should have appeal to a large audience and we can recommend your early inspections. For the right deal Will will return to the yacht to recommission her for launching with her new owner.
